The 2016 Abilities Expo is booked!

This year the Expo will be held on Thursday the 8th of September at the Burswood Entertainment Centre.

This year’s Expo will be bigger and better than ever before as we welcome Disabilities Services Commission on board as a major partner in this year’s event. Current partners Public, Catholic and Independent schools will remain strong contributors to the Abilities Expo.

In 2015 the organising committee made changes to the EXPO to better  show case opportunities for young adults with intellectual, physical or  psychiatric  disabilities, sensory impairments and/or autistic spectrum disorders.

With the Commission coming on board for the 2016 EXPO the organising committee will introduce further changes, such as more interactive presentations, a wider range of Exhibitors and an evening session from 4.30pm to 7.30pm

The day will commence with the opening ceremony at 9.15am and Booths opening from 9.45am to 1.30pm and reopen from 4.30pm to 7.30pm in Grand Ballrooms 1 and 2.  Exhibitors are being asked to present and show case what they can offer to young adults as they prepare for life beyond school.

There will be guest speakers, performances and interactive workshops that focus on employability skill building & inclusion focused interactions.

There are also career/Life story presentations from current and former students who have been through these journeys and explain how they became a success. Please look out for more information on the Expo as the committee works hard to create a fantastic event showcasing what is on offer.

All students, schools, families and related stakeholders in the metropolitan area are being invited to attend, and it's free!

Come along for a fun filled, informative day.
